Yoga Sanskrit and Flow: Movement, Breath, and Meaning

This welcoming class combines mindful movement, breathwork, and meditation with an introduction to key Sanskrit words and phrases commonly used in yoga. As you move through accessible postures, you’ll learn the meaning and pronunciation of foundational terms—such as asana (posture), pranayama (breath control), drishti (focused gaze), and savasana (final relaxation)—gaining a richer understanding of how language can enhance your practice. No prior experience with yoga or Sanskrit is required; all levels are welcome. Leave with a greater appreciation for yoga’s traditions and practical tools to bring more intention and awareness to your time on and off the mat.
Instructor: Anjali Goswami is a Yoga enthusiast and certified 500 HR Yoga teacher from the renowned “Sri Sri school of Yoga”, which aims at providing comprehensive and multidimensional yoga education. The programs offered are deeply rooted in ancient yogic science and give participants a unique experiential understanding of yoga in its purity. Anjali teaches in person and virtual classes at the renowned Yoga Studio.
