Research has shown that houseplants offer many benefits to our health and well-being. Not only do houseplants make our living spaces more beautiful, they also improve indoor air quality and help reduce our stress levels. Join Cat Swiderski, Manager of Horticulture at GFS, for a two-hour workshop and learn how to grow and propagate a variety of indoor plants. In this workshop, you’ll not only learn about what types of plants are best suited for growing indoors and how to care for them, but also how to propagate your own! Plant propagation is a rewarding process that allows us to create more plants for ourselves and to share with others. Participants will have the opportunity to take cuttings from GFS-grown plants, learn how to root their cuttings, and how to grow their newly propagated plants at home. This workshop is open to plant lovers of all levels of experience. Admission to GFS and supplies included.

Instructor: Cat Swiderski, Manager of Horticulture, has been on the Horticulture staff at Grounds for Sculpture since 2021 and is a graduate of the Ornamental Horticulture program at Mercer County Community College. Her primary horticultural interests include public gardening, plant propagation, nursery management, and horticulture education. Cat believes in the power of plants to enrich all our lives and in the importance of taking a sustainable, evidence-based approach to horticulture.
