Wednesdays May 8 – May 29
First Class 5:30-9:30PM, Remaining Classes 5:30-8:30PM
In this 4-week introduction class to resin casting, participants can expect to learn setup and preparation, safety, and basic trouble shooting issues with resins and add-ins, such as dyes or powders, and further finishing applications. A small relief will be modeled in clay and, from this pattern, silicon open face molds will be prepared. Each participant will demold and cold cast their own piece of artwork. Fee includes all necessary tools and materials.
* Participants must be 14+
Optional (+$150): Have a custom sandmold of your relief made to be cast in aluminum and finished with an aluma black patina. Pour to be scheduled week of June 3
Fun Tip: Play with both new and old technologies and create a diptych relief with a 5×5” resin-bonded sandmold – available through the shop.
