A continuation of Introduction to Composting, this workshop can be taken in tandem or on its own. This in-depth workshop will give you the tips and tricks to get started with making your own “black gold” at home. Participants will receive personalized guidance and participate in hands-on demonstrations.

Instructor: Natalie Nowlen is a composting industry professional and environmental educator. In her seven years in the composting industry, she has worked in settings ranging from windrows on a farm to industrial in-vessel aerobic digesters at a NJ university to small scale backyard bins in NYC. Natalie believes that composting is the key to soil fertility and decreasing our impact on our environment. Natalie holds a Bachelors in Earth Science from Kean University and is in the process of becoming a US Composting Council Certified Compost Operations Manager.

This program is supported, in part, by Investors Foundation, PNC Foundation.
