Learn how to support nature’s way of recycling and become a partner in the natural systems of decomposition. This workshop offers a comprehensive introduction to composting, and provides tips and tricks to get started making your own “black gold” at home. Participants will receive personalized guidance and participate in hands-on demonstrations.

Instructor: Natalie Nowlen is a composting industry professional and environmental educator. In her 8 years in the composting industry, she has worked in settings ranging from windrows on a farm to industrial in-vessel aerobic digesters at a NJ university to small scale backyard bins in NYC. Natalie holds a Bachelors in Earth Science from Kean University and is in the process of becoming a US Composting Council Certified Compost Operations Manager.
