The Trenton Community A-Team (TCAT) returns to Grounds For Sculpture with From the Ground(s) Up— a powerful celebration of 25 years of grassroots creativity, community, and transformation. Founded by a group of self-taught artists at the Trenton Area Soup Kitchen (TASK), TCAT has grown from humble beginnings into a vital part of the Trenton arts scene. This retrospective highlights the evolution of the organization through a vibrant mix of past and present works from both longtime and newer TCAT artists. From the Ground(s) Up is more than an exhibition; it’s a tribute to resilience, expression, and the enduring power of art to uplift lives.

About TASK & TCAT: For many years, the creative arts programs at TASK have been a connection point for people, enriching lives through visual, written, and performing arts. The weekly arts sessions serve as a vital outlet for self-expression. TASK partners every Tuesday with the Trenton Community A-TEAM providing a space and materials for individuals to create and connect. TCAT supports, develops and promotes self- taught, local artists because art can be transformative by reframing the artist’s connectedness to self and others and by enhancing community pride. A special thank you to all who have supported TASK and TCAT in various ways through the years.
*Join us for the opening reception on July 11th from 6-8PM, where you’ll have the chance to meet the artists, hear their stories, and celebrate their creative journeys. The event will feature live music by TASK’s own Funk-TASK-tics and moving poetry from participants in TASK’s writing program.
