Join us for an engaging panel discussion featuring author and horticulturalist Nicole Juday and Philadelphia Horticulture Society Vice President and horticulturist Andrew Bunting as they explore the inspiration, artistry, and horticultural richness behind the book Private Gardens of Philadelphia. Discover the stories and creative visions that shaped the city’s most enchanting private green spaces. A must-attend for garden lovers, art enthusiasts, and anyone inspired by the intersection of nature and design. The book will be onsite and available for purchase. Admission Included.

Speaker Bios:
Andrew Bunting is Vice President of Horticulture and leads the utilization of planting and design to promote environmentally sound gardening practices at PHS. Andrew has elevated each of the departments he oversees and has increased the brand and visibility of PHS through their respective work. Andrew received his B.S. in Plant and Soil Science from Southern Illinois University. Prior to arriving at PHS, Andrew worked at the Chicago Botanic Garden, Chanticleer Garden, and the Scott Arboretum for a tenure of 27 years. He has received the American Public Gardens Association’s Professional Citation, Chanticleer Scholarship in Professional Development, and the Certificate of Merit from the Pennsylvania Horticultural Society. He also serves on the Board of Magnolia Society International. Andrew published his first book in 2015, “The Plant Lover’s Guide to Magnolias.” Andrew enjoys bird watching, travel and, of course, gardening.

Nicole Juday has a deep background in public horticulture, with a career that has encompassed many areas including owning her own garden design business, serving as Landscape Curator at Wyck Historic Garden, and running the renowned Arboretum School at the Barnes Foundation, and spending five years at the Pennsylvania Horticultural Society as Director of Audience Engagement. Currently, she works in corporate philanthropy as Director of the IDEAL Industries Foundation. A Chanticleer Scholarship allowed Nicole to pursue an interest in garden writing, and she has gone on to publish numerous articles and to speak regularly on various gardening topics. Her writing has appeared in many garden publications. Private Gardens of Philadelphia is her first book.
