A comprehensive beginner’s workshop involving first-hand exploration of surface finishes and patina applications. Traditional Patina processes involving the use of a torch as well as cold chemical processes will be demonstrated.
Participants will learn safety, prep and process and become proficient in the proper preparation of the surface of the sculpture. Options for sealing and protecting the patina, such as waxing, buffing and lacquer applications will be covered with a primary emphasis on bronze. Routine maintenance and indoor and outdoor sculpture care will also be discussed.
Workshop participants are encouraged to bring their questions, ideas or aluminum art from previous workshops!
