José De Leon González in conversation with Omar Offendum explore questions about surveillance, collective memory, land, and community in this conversation inspired by Raheleh Filsoofi’s A Transient’s Paradox, Magdolene Dykstra’s Babel, and Roberto Lugo’s exhibition, Roberto Lugo: The Village Potter.

José De Leon González (he/him) is a senior at The College of New Jersey who majors in Chemistry with a specialization in Biochemistry. He conducts research at The College of New Jersey with his Principal Investigator to create conductive polymer nanofibers for the detection of nitric oxide released from cells.

Omar Offendum is a rapper / poet / playwright based in Brooklyn. Known for his unique blend of Hip-Hop & Arabic poetry, he has been featured on prominent world news outlets, lectured at a number of prestigious academic institutions, and helped raise millions of dollars for various humanitarian relief groups. Offendum was recently named a Kennedy Center Citizen Artist Fellow for 2018 / 2019.
