Early learners will create impression reliefs in clay by choosing natural materials – leaves, flowers, and pinecones – along with other items – Legos, cookie cutters, and more – to press into air-dry clay. The resulting impressions offer unique relief creations with various textures and imaginative surface finishes. This activity promotes the exploration of shapes and textures, highlighting fine motor skills such as placing, pressing, and pulling. All Tots For Sculpture workshops are designed for kids ages 3 to 5 working alongside their adult caregivers.
Children’s educational programming at Grounds For Sculpture is made possible by generous support from the Jirair S. and Elizabeth Hovnanian Family Foundation. Additional support is provided by PNC Foundation. Support is provided, in part, by Jenifer Morack and Schaeder/Batterman Family Fund of the Princeton Area Community Foundation.
