Enhanced Vessels with Clifford Ward | 2 Day Workshop

First workshop: Saturday, June 21, 5-8PM | Second workshop: Saturday, June 28, 5-7:30PM

Join artist Clifford Ward as he leads two workshops on vessels creation using the similar materials and processes as used within his work. On the first day participants will be introduced to materials and guided in the creation of their own personalized vessel using balloons, plaster bandage and other non-traditional items. Return a week later, having allowed the vessels to dry, to paint and complete the piece! Learn how Ward uses line, color, and shape to create distinctive vessels then join him for a walking tour of his exhibition, Clifford Ward: I’ll Make Me A World, on view through January 11, 2026.

About the Instructor: Artist Clifford Ward had several other careers before pursuing his art full-time. When the company he worked for went out of business, Ward channeled his energy into creating art, which had always been an outlet for him. Ward apprenticed at the Johnson Atelier Technical Institute of Sculpture from 1997-1998 and then transitioned into being a staff member. Later, he became a member of the technical teaching staff in metal chasing. Ward’s sculpture Jubilant Dancer [hyper link to the image] is a part of the permanent collection at GFS. In addition to being a full-time artist, Ward taught art to adults with developmental and intellectual disabilities at the Center for Creative Works in Wynnewood, PA for 10 years. His studio is located at GFS where he has worked for 27 years, teaching workshops, creating sculptures, paintings and enhancing clothing with his art.
