Harp of David #1 by Dina Wind

Dina Wind, (1938-2014) was born in Israel, but spent her formative years as an artist in Philadelphia. She began her study as a painter, but she became immersed in the process of welding scrap steel into sophisticated and challenging abstract spatial compositions of various scales. She left a strong legacy of works in her studio and in numerous public and private collections over her nearly 30 years as a sculptor.

Less than five years after her passing, her work has been further embraced by the Woodmere Art Museum and Grounds For Sculpture, two museums which have commissioned monumental enlargements of Wind’s steel works for their respective collections. In partnership with the Dina Wind Estate and The Seward Johnson Atelier, a 26’ enlargement of Wind’s Harp of David #1 was created and installed at GFS.
