Call for Entries! Members' Musings 2019

Submissions will be accepted through August 2nd.

Leni Morante, 'Gunpowder Hillside at Noon'.

An annual exhibition held in the Education Gallery at Grounds For Sculpture, this year’s Members’ Musings is the tenth show featuring artwork exclusively by members of Grounds For Sculpture. In addition to supporting the arts, many GFS members are gifted artists themselves. This exhibition showcases the diversity of the organization’s membership through their varied artistic creations and unique inspirations.

The Grounds For Sculpture member exhibition is open to current and new members, whose membership must be valid on August 3, 2019. Members employed by GFS, members who serve on the GFS Board, or members who have work in the collection and/or featured exhibitions are not eligible to participate.

This is a juried exhibition. This year’s juror is Margaret Pezalla-Granlund, Director of The College of New Jersey Art Gallery and The Sarnoff Collection.

Margaret Pezalla-Granlund received her MFA from the California Institute of the Arts. She was awarded a McKnight Fellowship and a Jerome Travel Grant to the archives of the Lowell Observatory in Flagstaff, Arizona and the Velaslevansky Panorama and the Museum of Jurassic Technology in Los Angeles, California. She has exhibited both locally and nationally, at the Minneapolis Institute of Arts, the Santa Monica Museum, and at Burnett Gallery in the Minneapolis. Her work was included in the 2015 Midwest Biennial at the Soap Factory in Minneapolis.

Prior to joining The College of New Jersey Art Gallery, she curated the exhibitions in the Gould Library at Carleton College in Northfield, Minnesota.
