Located on the east corner of the grounds, the site-specific sculpture "If It Were Time" 1999 by J. Seward Johnson, Jr., is an example of one of the artist's latest works in a series inspired by well-known paintings of the French Impressionists. Based upon "Terrace at Sainte-Adresse" (1866-67) by Claude Monet, the tableau is hidden from immediate view. A specially designed walkway leads visitors to discover this elaborate work.
