Artist lectures at Grounds For Sculpture provide visitors with opportunities to share and explore ideas about sculpture and contemporary arts. Artist lectures of the past included resident artists discussing their residency experiences, gallery walks by exhibiting artists and special artist evenings.
Resident Artist Discussions:
- New York artist Steven Siegel shared and explored ideas about sculpture and contemporary arts with visitors through a discussion of his residency on October 6, 2006.
- Patrick Dougherty gave an artist talk and slide presentation, allowing visitors a behind-the-scenes look at the artistic process as well as an opportunity to talk with the artist on October 22, 2004.
Gallery Walks:
- Kinetic Art Organization founder and sculptor Rein Triefeldt led a walk through the group exhibition “MomentuM: Selections from the Kinetic Art Organization” on July 9, 2007.
- Glass artist Richard Jolley spoke in connection with his retrospective exhibition “Richard Jolley: Sculptor of Glass from 1985-Present”) on May 11, 2007.
Special Artist Evenings:
- International Sculpture Center Lifetime Achievement Award recipient Manuel Neri and his model of thirty years, Mary Julia Klimenko, discussed the artist-model collaboration on November 2, 2006.
