The amateur photographs in this annual Grounds For Sculpture exhibition share the common subject of matter of sculptural elements. Entries describe a broad definition of sculpture; photographers are invited to point their lenses toward sculptural elements present in everyday life. This year, 21 photographs were selected from 105 entries. Each year, a different professional photographer is invited to select the works for the exhibition from those submitted. 2012's juror is Frank DiGiovanni, a fine art photographer specializing in the field of macro photography. He is the owner of Giovanni Photography, in Kingston, NJ. Our juror chose to select images which implied three dimensional form on two dimensional surfaces (the flat photograph). Photo subjects range from natural to man-made and often exaggerate light contrasts and visual perspectives. Exhibiting artists include: Susan Alexander, Carol Tremper, Sherrie Kaler, Charles Miller, John Cregar, Jennifer Henry, Mike Klein, Feryal "Faye" Berber, Terri Hood, Michael Luciano, Ann Mark, Vivian Bedoya, Daniel Goldberg, Faith Frankel, Alan Kesselhaut, Linda Sheehan, and Olga Svibilsky. |
