Tour Grounds For Sculpture and discover art and nature at play!

Every year over 500 guided tours are offered at Grounds For Sculpture. Volunteer Docents undergo extensive training and research in preparation for tours.  Docents are available to lead tours for a variety of groups.  For anyone interested in a less structured tour of the park, self-guided tour maps and exhibition catalogues are available in the Visitor’s Center.

Self-guided maps of the grounds and exhibition brochures are available in the Visitor's Center.

Free Walk-in Tours

We suggest calling 609-586-0616 before visiting, to confirm that a drop-in tour is scheduled for the date/time of the visit. Please note that the park is closed on Mondays.  Reservations are not required and there is no additional charge for the tours. On arrival, to confirm place in a tour, a sign-up in the Visitor’s Center is required. Sign-up is available one hour prior the scheduled start of the tour. All registrants should meet their Volunteer Docent in the Visitor’s Center 10 minutes before the start of the tour.
Please note that walk-in tour size is limited and filled on a first-come, first-serve basis.  All tours are subject to cancellation without notice due to inclement weather and unavailability of docents.
Touch Tours are available for the visually impaired. Specially designed with the help of The NJ Commission for the Blind and Visually Impaired, the Touch Tour features a variety of outdoor sculptures that can be handled with care while the work is described by a Volunteer Docent. For more information or to arrange a touch tour, please contact the Tour Coordinator at (609) 586-0616, ext. 200.
Accessibility Cart Tours are available without additional cost, by reservation, for people with mobility challenges. This cart is wheelchair accessible and the docent trained driver provides a limited guided tour of the park. For more information or to make a reservation, please contact the Guest Services Department at (609) 586-0616.

Please note, docents are volunteers. While we make every effort to have docents available for all walk-in tours, in rare circumstances, a docent may not be available, and a tour will be cancelled. We recommend calling ahead to confirm availability.
