Artists' Spotlight

Time: 11am – 4pm. Free with park admission.
Enjoy the fall weather and foliage in the park at the Artist’s Spotlight. This year’s featured artist is Grounds For Sculpture’s artist-in-the-park, Dana Stewart. Take part in our Young Artist Workshops, inspired by Stewart’s work, listen to a special gallery talk with the sculptor himself, and enjoy artistic desserts at Rat’s Café and Restaurant created by Pastry Chef Peter Max Dierkes. Concert: Beatlemania Now presents "Please, Please Me"

Time: 8pm. Rain or Shine!
It’s February 1964 when The Ed Sullivan Show presents the Beatles for the first time to a record 73 million television viewers in America. With their albums and songs like “I Want to Hold Your Hand,” “She Loves You,” and “Cant Buy Me Love” topping the charts and the worldwide release of their first movie, A Hard Day’s Night, it’s the beginning of a global phenomenon known as Beatlemania! Relive the excitement, mood, and frantic intensity of 1964-66 with what for many was the definitive Beatlemania experience. Hear your favorite Beatles songs just as the Fab Four performed them live in concert, making this the ultimate Beatles experience for fans of all ages!

Join Peter Max Dierkes, Rat’s Restaurant Pastry Chef for a special “how to” gingerbread house demonstration. Dierkes will amaze you with his sweet sculptural techniques!

Gingerbread House Workshop

Time: 1:30pm. Celebrate the holidays and learn this edible tradition. Combine gingerbread, frosting, candy, cookies and more to make your one- of-a-kind house. Bring your own icing spatula and pastry tips. Recommended for ages 10 and up.

Young Artists Workshops: Holiday Style

Time: 1 – 2:30pm. Ages 6-12.

Create something special for your special someone. Take part in three drop-in workshops making holiday ornaments, decoupage candle holders and 3-D journals.
Price: $10 Members; $12 Non-Members. Space is limited and on a first-come, first-serve basis.

  
Saturday, November 28th
Lights On!

Time; 1 – 5pm. Free with park admission.
Decorate holiday cookies with frosting, sprinkles and more from 1 – 4pm (a $5 materials fee is required). Listen to songs of the holidays from 3 – 5pm and be there for the awarding of prizes for our 5th Annual Gingerbread House Contest at 4pm (to view the official rules, please click here). All before the official lighting of holiday lights throughout the park at 5pm!  Performers for this event include Nassau Brass at 3pm and the Jersey Harmony Chorus at 4:30pm.
In conjunction with Lights On! the Museum Shop will be offering special sales on selected merchandise on this day only.
