Grounds For Sculpture’s charming restaurant, Rat’s, conceived as part of sculptor Seward Johnson’s vision; is designed to make visitors feel they have stepped into a village reminiscent of French impressionist Claude Monet's beloved town of Giverny. Overlooking Johnson’s sculptures inspired by Impressionists paintings, as well as the lily pond and bridge inspired by the works of Monet, Rat’s offers a magical ambiance for dining and a lovely complement to the Grounds For Sculpture experience. With lunch and dinner menus featuring cosmopolitan home cooking, Rat’s is a welcome part of every visit. The Lounge at Rat's Restaurant offers a relaxing and exotic escape to rest and enjoy. Discover our hand crafted cocktails, eclectic wine list and our delicious light fare. The Lounge at Rat’s is the perfect way to begin or cap off your visit to Grounds For Sculpture.

Chef Shane Cash and the renowned Chef Scott Swiderski of
Starr Restaurants Buddakan, join forces to present a Chinese-inspired
dining experience you will never forget. Begin your evening at 6pm for
unique cocktails followed by a special 5-course dinner to be served at
6:30pm. Reservations for this incredible evening are absolutely required so
make yours now. Call 609-584-7800 for pricing and reservations.

Winter Happy Hour at Rat’s Restaurant
Friday, January 20th through February 24th
Join us every Friday from 4pm to 7pm for Happy Hour and to celebrate Chinese New Year. Enjoy complimentary Asian inspired appetizers and drink specials.
Why the name Rat's? In Kenneth Grahame's classic, The Wind in the Willows, one of Seward Johnson's, favorite books, the character Ratty represented everything a host should be. As founder of Rat's and Grounds For Sculpture, Johnson likens himself to Ratty who threw the best parties with the best wine. Likewise, the two share delightful imaginations and far-reaching dreams.
