Jeffrey Maron received a B.S. in sociology from Washington University in St. Louis, MO followed by an M.F.A. in fine arts with a focus on sculpture from the same school in 1973. A Fulbright-Hayes Grant allowed him to study sculpture in Japan after graduate school. The experience of living in an Eastern culture had a profound effect on Maron’s developing philosophy and body of work.

His achievements have also earned him grants from the National Endowment for the Arts and the Pollock-Krasner Foundation. Works by this artist have been exhibited in many states and in Sweden, Monaco, and Japan. He is represented in private, corporate, and public collections, such as ones at Davidson College in North Carolina, Springfield Art Museum in Missouri, Japan’s Hakone Museum, and the Modern Museum of Art in Mexico City. A recent commission, Spirits’ Flight, was designed to create a sense of hope, tranquility, and renewal for the Hillman Cancer Center in Pittsburgh, PA. Currently, Maron has a work, ‘Moontide’, on view at Grounds For Healing, an outdoor garden designed in partnership with Grounds For Sculpture at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital at Hamilton to provide a serene, relaxing environment for patients and visitors. He resides in New York.
