“There are many qualities and truths that simply cannot be explained yet inspired art can impart a feeling that triggers that exploration and understanding in others. I believe that this is a very crucial part of development both for the individual and society as a whole. Today, I believe, art is needed more than ever to help bring back a balanced approach to life within to our society.” – Ekaterina Harrison

Ekaterina Harrison (née Tatarovich) was born in Russia and emigrated to the United States with her family in 1978, when she was just eight years old, during the height of the Cold War. Through the help of Catholic Charities they were sponsored by a family in the Salt Lake City area and eventually settled in that region. Harrison attended the University of Utah, where she studied art and was first introduced to working with metal. She earned an apprenticeship at the Johnson Atelier, where she worked for three years. She now lives and works out of her studio in the mountains of La Sal, Utah.
